Due to the coronavirus crisis, we have decided in conjunction with the club to suspend Saturday night concerts at Altofts WMC until further notice. We will review the situation fortnightly and a message will be posted once the situation returns to normal.
We are obviously disappointed to have to do this but the decision has been taken by both parties with everyone’s welfare in mind. We will look forward to seeing you all back when the crisis has passed. Hope that everyone remains healthy and happy in the meantime.
The concert/dance was once again a great success. Thanks to the organisers, Joan, Sandra, Robin and the gang for their tireless efforts. Thanks to the staff of Roundhill Club and of course thanks to all who attended, also those who contributed but could not attend on the night. The concert was in aid of Macmillan Nurses. The total raised at the moment stands at £1900+ which is in itself a fantastic amount, but this is expected to rise. We will give the final figure when we have it. Thanks again to all.
Thanks to Roundhill WMC for inviting us to play for their members’ special celebration-the 50th anniversary of the opening of the new club. Congratulations to the club on achieving this milestone.
Thanks again to John and Harvey for the new photographs of the band, two of which have been used at the top of this page. Others can be found in ‘Photo Gallery’
Thanks to John and his son Harvey for the photos taken at our recent November concert. John, Harvey and his family are regulars in the Saturday night audience. All three photos can be found on ‘Picture Gallery’.
Are you interested in local club land bands from the past? Google ‘Roll Back the Years’ to remember local bands like ‘The Whales’ ‘Sammy King and The Voltaires’ etc and many others.
Once again our thanks to Trevor Tunnicliffe (Mr T) for his complementary review of our recent concert at Crigglestone in his regular clubland blog. www.mrtreviews.weebly.com
Hi this is Norma Lockett from Featherstone. On behalf of my husband Les and myself I would like to thank the band for making our special Golden Wedding night so memorable. We had an absolutely fantastic night. I’d just like to say a really big thankyou. Lots of love and all the best for the future.
Sixties Mix: Thanks Norma and Les. It was indeed a brilliant night and for us a pleasure to be part of it. Once again thanks to you and our warmest congratulations.
